In Norway, there is no dedicated national regulation for devices that are intended for use on animals for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes. Please note that other regulations might apply depending on the nature of the device, e.g. electrical devices. However, the responsibility of The Norwegian Medical Products Agency (NOMA) is limited to devices for human use.

Some devices may classify as pharmaceuticals. Pharmaceuticals intended for animals cannot be marketed in Norway without approval from NOMA. Please refer to our website on veterinary medicine for more information.
