In Norway, there is no dedicated national regulation for devices that are intended for use on animals for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes.
NOMA's administrative responsibility is limited to devices for human use. Please note that other regulations might apply to devices that are intended for use on animals for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes, depending on the nature of the device, e.g. electrical devices.
Some devices may classify as medicinal products. Medicinal products intended for animals cannot be marketed in Norway without approval from NOMA. Please refer to our website on veterinary medicine for more information.
