Horizon scanning for new medical devices
Published:
Changes
Our horizon scans help identify new and emerging health technologies that may have an impact on healthcare services in the future. NoMA has been commissioned to identify novel and potentially important medical devices on 1 January, 2024.
At NoMA, we frequently consult other government bodies and international organizations (see list below) about emerging medical devices and diagnostic tools.
We notify the national system of managed introduction (“New methods”) of new and potentially important technologies that we consider relevant and potentially beneficial for patients in Norway. Our notifications are evaluated within two months. During this period, anyone may submit their own evaluations and opinions on the respective medical device. Read more about giving input to New methods on their website (only available in Norwegian).
